Registered Psychologists have training and expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. They provide customized treatment plans and work with clients in a collaborative and non-judgemental manner. The goal of working with a psychologist is to treat symptoms of a mental health condition, develop healthy coping strategies, and restore daily functioning. Psychologists can also help with common challenges like life transitions, grief and loss, and finding meaning at various stages of life.

Dr. Jennifer Arpink, R.Psych. (#2646)
REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST with a practice in Clinical Psychology

I am an enthusiastic and authentic mental health care provider. I value honesty and fairness above all else. I’m a very direct communicator, and my goal is to give you practical skills and tools that you can use to start feeling better as soon as possible – and that you can take with you for the rest of your life. It is an honour to do this work, where I witness such profound feats of human strength and courage. I want you to know that it is never too late to try therapy, or to try again if previous approaches have not given you the results that you were looking for.

APPROACHES TO COUNSELLING

I offer a very broad range of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential/Humanistic approaches. I also have expertise in providing specialized CBT approaches (Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy) and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions. My treatment plans are strengths-based and individualized for each client.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

I have experience working with very severe cases of PTSD where there have been multiple traumatic events, such as those experienced by first responders, military veterans, survivors of abusive relationships, severe child abuse, or medical trauma (e.g., hospitalization during the COVID-19 pandemic), and civilians exposed to war or other prolonged periods of stress. I also work well with people who have depressive disorders, anxiety disorders (e.g., social anxiety, OCD, phobias, panic attacks, etc.), ADHD, Autism, grief and loss, chronic health conditions, substance use concerns, existential anxiety, or difficulty finding meaning and satisfaction in life.

POPULATIONS

Adults age 18-65+ for individual assessment and therapy. I’m comfortable working with people from all walks of life with various backgrounds, identities, and beliefs.

DIRECT BILLING
